“Everything Starts Small: The Virtue of Patience”
Recollection Facilitator – Rev. Fr. Ian Anthony Espartero, OAR
July 12, 2025

In a spirit of reflection and renewal, the LCCT Personnel gathered for a meaningful recollection with the theme β€œEverything Starts Small: The Virtue of Patience,” held under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Ian Anthony Espartero, OAR. The session offered a sacred pause amid the daily grind, inviting participants to rediscover the quiet strength found in waiting, trusting, and growing in God’s time. Through prayer, shared insights, and moments of silence, the recollection reminded everyone that in the Augustinian tradition, greatness is not born in haste but in humble beginnings nurtured by love and faith.
Fr. Espartero illuminated the path from β€œdreaming big” to β€œstarting small” to β€œarriving peacefully”—a journey that echoes the life of St. Augustine himself, from his restless ambitions to his humble service as bishop and eventual peace in God’s embrace. Patience, he shared, is not the absence of movement but the presence of love unfolding over time. In the Augustinian way, the dream is not merely about accomplishments, but about transformationβ€”about becoming. And in becoming, we are called to wait, to trust, and to growβ€”because everything that is truly lasting begins in small, faithful steps. ❀️‍πŸ”₯
